Islamic Relief Worldwide – South Africa, Is an International Relief and Development Non Governmental Organisation inspired by Islamic values, such as Accountability, Humanitarianism, Integrity, Inclusiveness and Co-operation.
Islamic Relief has 3,000 permanent staff and offices in over 40 countries including South Africa, Afghanistan, Albania, Bangladesh, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Chad, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Kenya, Kosovo, Lebanon, Mali, Niger, Pakistan, Palestine, Russian Federation (Chechnya), Somalia, Sri Lanka Sudan and Yemen. Islamic Relief directly implements its own projects.
Some of the projects include Orphans Support, Emergency & Relief, Education & Training, Health & Nutrition, Water & Sanitation, Income Generation, HIV AIDS, Forced Migration and Environmental projects, WAQF (Sadaqa Jaariya) and donations in kind.
Last year Islamic Relief reached 932,000 people in 25 countries.
